Moreover, they have already recently published on flare prediction and the role of active region topology-based features.
Moreover, from the strategic viewpoint, both UNIGE and UNITOV units will disseminate the project outcomes by participating in the main conferences of the solar scientific community, in order to promote the space weather Italian research activities in Europe.

It is important to underline that the two units bring the following capabilities to the project.
On the one hand, the UNIGE unit has two Nvidia servers available for high-performance scientific computing equipped with the most

recent software technologies for the development and use of machine and deep learning algorithms. These two machines not only perform calculations on huge amounts of data in an extremely short time compared to normal desktops for scientific computing, but, more importantly, they can perform calculations that are not possible on desktop computers.
On the other hand, UNITOV provides the knowledge and data handling capabilities of an impressive amount of data, which are essential for the success of the project. These data range from space satellite data to ground-based telescope data, as well as images of the Sun at different wavelengths, up to high-energy data, such as solar flares, CMEs and SEPs. The large majority of the data used in the project will be provided by NASA and ESA satellites.

There are two research units involved in the project, that will share the effort to realize the project according to their specific competences and the role assumed in the project.
